1. Assam Panchayat re-poll: 73 Pc voting recorded.
GUWAHATI: Around 73
per cent voters exercised their franchise in re-polling for Panchayat election
held in 15 polling stations of seven districts of Asani on Friday. According to Assam
State Election Commisision
sources Panchayat polls were held In the first phase on Thursday and the re-polling
was necesitated due to anomalies found in the ballot papers. “An estimated 73.16
percent polling was recorded in repolling held in 15 polling
stations. Voting was
peaceful said the sources. Re-polling was held
in polling stations in Dhemaji. Kamrup, Bishwanath, Charaiaeo, Lakhimpur
and Jorhat districts. Over 75 per cent
people cast their votes in the
first phase of Panchayat
elections held In 16 districts to
decide the political fate of
43,515 contestants In 15.899
posts In the three tiers of
panchayatraj - Zilla
Parishad. Anchalik Panchayat and Gaon
Panchayat. Altogether 12
candidates of various parties have
already been declared
winners uncontested. The Second Phase of
Pollingwill be held on
December 9. when fates of 35,056
candidates will be
decided for 1O,9O9 posts by 64,21,518 voters through 9,428
polling booths in 13 districts, The counting for
both the phases will take
place on December 12,2018.
2. Complaint lodged against Golaghat cop at NHRC.
The Secretary
General of Indian Corporate Counsel Association, Bhargav Bhushan
Bhuyun lodged a complaint agains Partha Pratirn
Saikia. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP)(HQ) of Golaghat under whoose
instructions, mentally-ill Gyanendra Rajkhowa an ex-Border Security Force (BSF) Jawan. was shut at the National Human
Rights Commission In New Delhi on Friday. Bhuyan has
accused Partha Pratim Saikia of orchestrating this ghastly operation in a cold

has not been arrested even after a First Information
Report (FIR) was lodged against him

members of the deceased. ‘A request has been made to the National
Human Rights Commission (NHRC) to Immediately Intervene in the matter and also
to put pressure on the
government to dismiss the DSP from duty with immediate
effect until investigations are over,” said Bhuyan. ‘It is strange to
understand that a team of 25-27 police team led by a
DSP had no other option but to shoot down the mentally
challenged man,” said Bhuyan on Friday.

3. NDFB cadres held from passenger train.
Acting on a tip off,
Cobra Commandos and Assam Police jointly launched an operation and arrested two
National Democratic Front of
Boroland (NDFB) cadres from a train at Mazbat Railway Station in Udalguri
district on Thursday evening.
The arrested
militants were identified as D Sagar(23) and M .Jwmwi
(18). The duo was arrested from the
Dekargaon-Rangia
passenger train. They are trained cadres of the outfit, who were travelling to
training camps in Myanmar.’ said a police source. A
First Information Report (FIR) has been registered
against the two at Mazbat Police Station and they are undergoing interrogation.
4. Dispur law student held with stolen items.
Fancy Bazar police arrested one 23-year-old law student
identified as Md Harun Ali Rasid after he was found
to be dealing in stolen items at Guwahati on
Friday.‘Rasid studies law at Dispur Law College and hails
from Boyasar of
Bilasipara in Dhubrl district. All was in our radar for a long period of time
as he was selling and buying stolen items at Fancy Bazar.” said
Tanmoy Nath, Sub inspector.

“He led us to his rented house at Hatigaon from where we recovered three
laptops, two mobile phones. 25 SBI ATM cards and
120 SIM cards,” he added. He used to deal with the stolen items and acted as a

5. Translocated Hyena Dies in Assam Zoo.
A pall of gloom descended among animal lovers
after a male hyena which was recently translocated from Jharkhand to Assam
State Zoo cum Botanical Garden died following a brief illness caused by stress
and infection, at Guwahati on Friday. The hyena, which arrived on November 26 from
Bhagwan Birsa Biological Park In kanchi. slipped into coma on Tuesday and

6. Silchar MP Sushmita slams BJP government.

7. Rangirkhal RCC bridge controversy : Silchar MLA tries to clear the air.

all the charges against him and claimed that within

A shocking incident happened at GC college on 5th of Dec 2018.
I have been informed that a Hindu student insulted a Muslim student for wearing Taqiyah (cap) then the fight started & the fight became the fight among the political parties. According to the report they were also having weapons. After that police force arrived at the college & tackled the situation. Then the Muslim students went to principal bt no action was taken. Out of nowhere bajrangdal came & a tiny boy screamed JAI SHREE RAM & ran up to a guy from Muslim community & jumped on his back & punched him on the back of his head - the fighting started. A boy named Abed was beaten by bajrangdal in order to save that Muslim boy.
