SUPER 30 MOVIE REVIEW
The word super might be a stretched to describe Hrithik Rohan's new film SUPER 30 . . Even if it does chronicle true inspiring story of Anand Kuman - the mathematician & educationist from Bihar, who's has helped 100s of students to creck the regress IIT exam . It's a remarkable achievement. Anand Kumar's commitment to ensure that education does not remain the exclusive limited to those with deep pockets. But director Vikas Bhal & writer Sanjiv Dutta don't seem convinced by the actual story choosing therefore their exaggerate details, omit critical facts & dial up the melodrama in order to raise the state.
Hrithik , who looks nothing like real Anand Kumar is sladered with brown face & body paint. Thus real pushing it to the stereotype of a dark skin poor india fellow. The actor never the less induced the charatcha specially in the beginning with charming innocence. We 1st meet him as a young math genius , the son of humble post man in Patna who lend & uses his scholarship to Cambridge because his family can't effod to sent him to England . There are plenty bleeding heart moments. Things look up temporarily after he has been recruited as a teacher by Lallan Singh to train students at his Fancy Nancy coaching centre.
There is no doubt that Super 30 is a dramatised, Bollywoodised version of a true story complete with too much songs, a dramatised villain . To be honest there are things admire to. Anand Kumar's tendency to pose mathematical & scientific questions to his students derived from routine scenario gives the film some of its best moments . The supporting casts is terrific. Particularly Aditya Srivastav as Lallan Singh. Virendra sexana as Anand's father & all the always reliable Pankaj Tripati as a corrupted minister makes the most out of his small role. Mrinal Thakur shows up his love intrrint. But it is a tiny role that never the less gives her one winning moment that she completely owns.
The film not rest on the shoulder of leading man & Hrithik Roshan brings the earnestness that he is known for. His Bihari accent is mind blowing & the film frequently gives Anand Kumar a misguidance as a super hero. Specifically disappointing part is, so little attention paid to the students.
Super 30 comes with an important message but the over root treatment makes its downfall.
