Bhoomi Pujan for Mini- Secretariat at Srikona Today.
Silchar: The land workshopping ceremony (bhumi-pujan) for the proposed mini secretariat in Barak Valley will be held at Srikona on Tuesday.Setting up of a mini secretariat in Barak Valley was one of the poll promise of the government. Assalam chief minister Sabananda Sonowal had laid the foundation project for the nega project in March this year. The ceremony is scheduled at Srikona near the industrial Training Institute (ITI) , around 7km from here at 11am on Tuesday morning. Excise & fisheries minister Parimal Suklabadya , silchar MP Rajdeep Roy, karimganj MP kripanath Malla & many other political leaders will be present.
By our correspondent , Parimal Suklabadya said that the mini secretariat, once set up , would be immensely helpful for the citizens of this valley as they would then be able to get many of their works done for which they travel to Guwahati. " This is going to be a boon for this valley" he did. Suklabadya, the only minister in the Assam cabinet from this valley, said construction of the mini secretariat's boundary wall would start from Tuesday & eventually other construction works would be done. Crores of many will be spent on the project, he said.
