Caught cheating, examinees beat H’kandi Inspector of Schools.
SILCHAR: In a tragic incident, the Inspector of
Schools, Hailakandl Rajiv Kumar Jha in a hid to stop mass copying, was assaulted by several
examinees of Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) examinations at at
Premlochan High School, Mohan pur in Hailakandi district on Thursday. .Jha during inspection
at the examination centre saw several examinees rescuing to cheating and using mobile
phones following which he tried to resist them. Feeling infuriated, several examinees
pounced on Jha and started beating him. The centre coordinator was beaten up
too when he tried to intervene and rescue Jha. A commotion began and the police personnel
deployed at the examination centre rushed in and brought the situation under control. Cheating
chits and mobile phones were seized by the police. Jha immediately reported the
matter to the district
administration authorities,following which the examination at the centre was cancelled
No First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged so far. though the police are
investigating the matter for initiating appropriate
action against the culprits. To ensure that the remaining exams are conducted without any hindrance, the police
administration will reinforce
security at all the centres.
