Family attempted to be murdered on false allegations of practising black magic in Kokrajhar

February 20, 2019: Triggering sensation a family has been attempted to be murdered in Kokrajhar on false allegations of practicing black magic.The shocking incident took place in Kokrajhar's Modati village where a youth's illness led to superstitious beliefs among some of the villagers.Following this a hearing took place against the alleged family by the kangaroo court of the village. But during the ongoing hearing some agitated locals brutally attacked on the family.
The family was finally rescued by police who were informed by some conscious locals. The victims were immediately admitted in hospital but one of the family members identified as Nirjoy Rabha who was seriously injured succumbed to the injuries while on the way to GMCH. Reportedly, 4 persons have been detained by police in this regard. Further details awaited.
