Eid-al-Adha celebrated with devotion in Barak Valley

Silchar : Eid-al-Adha was celebrated with traditional fervour in Silchar on Monday. The prayer service was held at Itkhola Idgah ground around 8:30am on Monday morning. The namaz recitation ceremony was conducted by Maulana Sabbir Ahmed Laskar. ernam of Silchar Bara Masjid. Muslims in huge numbers
took part in the prayer service braving the sweltering heat. Speaking on the occasion. Maulana Sabbir Ahmed Laskar stressed on the need of maintaining amity among all sections of people. He urged all to maintain peace and universal
brotherhood and help in building a prosperous society.
In Karimganj, the prayer service was held at Town Idgah ground around 8 am. It was conducted by Maulana Achab Uddin. head of Kazirbazar Senior Madrassa. Prior to the namaz recitation, Maulana Achab Uddin spoke about the significance of the occasion and said everyone to come forward and help people, especially those belonging from the economically weaker sections of the society. Further,
he urged one and all to maintain peace and universal brotherhood among each other.
In Hailakandi district, 29 Assam Rifles interacted with orphans and distributed sweets among them at Sahabad on the auspicious occasion. A programme was held on the premises of Sahabad Madrassa around 8:30am. The event, conducted by Captain Vivek Chauhan. witnessed a large gathering including nearly fifty
kids, panchayat representatives and local residents.
