Silchar Saratpally housewife dies mysteriously, husband booked
Silchar: Police on Tuesday afternoon arrested Debabreta Suklabaidya (37), an e-rickshaw driver and resident of Saratpally locality of Silchar in connection with
mysterious death of his wife. Sources said Ruma Shuklabaidya (31),Debabrata's wife died at Silchar Medical College & Hospital at about 11 pm on Monday. However her father Bipul Chandra Shuklabaidya alleged that she died because
of mental and physical torture unlashed by her husband over past many days.
Bipul, a resident of Banglaghat locality near the town in an FIR lodged to
Rangirkharai police outpost alleged that his daughter, mother of a son and two
daughters, was being subjected to physical and mental torture for long by
Debobrata over dowry Last Saturday he sent an ailing Ruma to her father's house According to Bipul Shuklabaidya, they at first admitted his daughter at
Sundari Mohan Seva Bhawan known as Kalyani hospital. The hospital
authorities later referred her to SMCH where she died on Monday night.
After Debabrata brought the body of her wife from SMCH for cremation, her
father and locals stopped him. In response to complaints, police handed
over the body of Ruma to her father and arrested Debabrata. He will be
produced before the court on Wednesday said a police official at Rangirkharai
outpost. The incident is being investigated, police said
