General Secretary of Assam University met CM of Assam to discuss various issues of AUS.
Moreover Discusses with Rajdeep Roy Regarding Bus Scarcity in AUS.
SILCHAR : Debopratim Saha General Secretary, of Assam University met with the chief minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal on 21st August 2019 to discuss and submit memorendum regarding various issues that the students are facing which can be solved by the help of Assam Govt. Among many issues that was pointed out CM gave assurance regarding-
1) To assign more doctors to health center so that students don't suffer from lack of health care infrastructure.
2) To grant a '108 Ambulance' service so that students with complicated health disorder can be shifted to SMCH.
3) To set up a Mineral water plant that will provide fully hygienic & fresh water to every hostels & department.
4) To increase & modernise the running bus facilities in the campus.
There were many other issues that Debopratim has discussed with the honourable CM. Sonowal assured that he will look into the matter as soon as possible.
Also on 14th of August 2019, he met with MP of Silchar, Dr.Rajdeep Roy to discuss the issues of bus scarcity. Assam University is in contract with ASTC bus service since 2017. But this is not enough with the increasing of the number of students & aslo security issues. So he demanded 5 electric buses to be allotted to AUS service out of 25 electric buses. Honourable Mp assured that he will do the needful to mitigate the issues regarding the buses.
His work is not limited to AUS campus, he has also successful in changing the fate of the TCD students. He has bought some radial & drastic changes in the Evolution & Re-evaluation of the semester examination. The changes are-
1) Transparency before publication of results-
The university have to show the original Answer sheet & Marks to each & every students of all departments before the publication of results.
a) If a student is satisfied with his/her marks, the procedure of publication will be same as was previously followed.
b) If a student is not satisfied with his/her marks he can file for spot re-evaluation on a particular date.
This new system will be applicable from next semester & if any problems appears in the system necessary changes will be made.
2) The grand supplementary examination provision of SOT is in effect. The dates will be declared soon .
