Bangladeshi Imposters nabbed in silchar ; Saudi Riyal Recovered.
09, Sep. Silchar : Police on Sunday evening arrested four Bangladeshi imposters from busy Nazirpatty locality of Silchar.
A number of incriminating documents including Saudi Arabian Riyal (currency) were recovered from them. A senior police official said, the men were engaged in cheating locals by exchanging royal with rupee in a fraudulent manner.
The arrested person have been identified as Md Ripon Khan (32), Md Suman Fakir (30), Md Assad Uddjaman (30) and Jamal Munshi (35). Another person identified as Md Kabir Sardar managed to escape during police raid. The arrested persons having Bangladeshi passport are residents of Gopalganj district under Dhaka Division of Bangladesh, the police officer added.
Lakhimpur SDPO Anurag Sharma said during the Operation jointly conducted by Banskandi and Silchar police, recovered 10 fake Riyal notes along with three original riyal notes of 100 denominations from them. Apart from this, six mobile phones and five Bangladeshi passports were also found on them.
According to the police, the Bangladeshi national cheated one person of Bangladeshi last month. The same men tried to cheat another person by exchanging fake Saudia Arabia riyals with 2 lakh Indian currency. Two separate cases were lodged against them
Sources said, the imposters entered through Tripura custom gate on August 28 and had been staying in a hotel at Rangirkhari locally to the town only the illegal business. The arrested persons are involved with an international gang, police said.
