Hailakandi, Sept.7: [PRESS RELEASE] The Hailakandi district administration is using Interactive Voice Response (IVR) System to effective use in building bridges of understanding with people and getting instant feedback.
In league with an NGO, Piramal Foundation and NIC, the district administration headed by Keerthi Jalli has embarked on IVR System to build citizen-administration engagement to collect feedback.

On Teachers' Day, DC, Jalli sent greetings and best wishes to heads of educational institutions and teachers through automated voice call. The response it generated was tremendous as the recipients reciprocated the goodwill gesture. Messages poured in thanking the DC for inspiring and motivating them. Some of the teachers even vowed to work for well being of the students. "It was really very nice and inspiring to receive this valuable message through automated voice call. I myself, as a teacher, promise to serve my best, " said a teacher.
"Feeling fortunate and grateful to DC Madam for addressing the teachers' fraternity through this automated voice call, " said another.

Yet another said, "We were in for a pleasant surprise as DC Madam sent us greetings through automated voice call. I extend my wholehearted support and cooperation to her in her endeavour to improve the education scenario in our district."

Cluster Resource Center Coordinator Joydeep Paul said, "The automated voice call from DC Madam got overwhelming response. It inspired and motivated us all to work better for our children and to further the cause of education."

Programme Leader, Piramal Foundation, Sadasiva Reddy said of the 6,330 automated voice calls transmitted through IVRS to mobile phones 2,468 received the calls registering 39% while 3,055 were unreachable with another 807 not picking up the call.

The administration is mulling to make use of IVRS to get feedback from the people on welfare oriented schemes to make right interventions to ensure that the benefits percolate to the grassroots level.
