Meteorology Centre forecasts heavy rainfall during next 3-4 days ; North East and Barak Valley
GUWAHATI, Sept 10: The Regional Meteorology Centre (RMC), Guwahati yesterday forecast possibility of thunderstorm with lightning occurring at isolated places over eleven districts of the State during the 24 hours ending at 8.30 am today, while isolated places over eight districts are likely to experience heavy rainfall during the period.
According to the weather warning issued by the RMC, Guwahati yesterday afternoon, isolated places over the districts of Dhubri, South Salmara-Mankachar, Goalpara, Kamrup, Kamrup (Metro), Majuli, Lakhimpur, Dibrugarh, Morigaon, Sonitpur and West Karbi Anglong are likely to experience thunderstorm with lightning during the period. Isolated places over the districts of Kokrajhar, Chirang, Barpeta, Baksa.
Cachar, Karimganj, Dhemaji and Tinsukia are likely to experience heavy rainfall during the said period. It further warned heavy rainfall activities tomorrow at isolated places over South Salmara-Mankachar, Goalpara, Bongaigaon, Barpeta, Kamrup, Cachar, Udalguri and Morigaon districts. Dima Hasao district is likely to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall activities at isolated places tomorrow, it said. The districts of Karbi Anglong, Darrang, Jorhat, Majuli, Lakhimpur, Dhemaji, Sivasagar, Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Baksa, Nalbari and Kamrup (Metro) are likely to experience thunderstorm with lightning activities at isolated places today, said the RMC, yesterday Guwahati in its warning.
