MoU inked between NIT Silchar and Royal University of Bhutan ; Exchanged During Visit of Prime Minister Modi
Silchar: A memorandum of understanding was inked between the National
Institute of Technology, Silchar and Royal University of Bhutan on Saturday. The MoU agreement was exchanged during the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Bhutan on Saturday. Altogether, 10 MoUs were signed between India and Bhutan on the day. Sharing his reaction, Prof. Sivaji Bandyopadhyay, the
director of NIT, Silchar said the MoU would foster the friendly ties between the two nations envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
As a result of the MoU, the NIT, Silchar and the Bhutanese university would be able to augment faculty and students' exchange programmes. Besides, the cultural assimilation, faculty from NIT, Silchar will be able to provide necessary
training to the Bhutanese faculty staff, Bantyopadhyay said National Institute Of
Technology, Silchar is one of the 31 NITs of India and was established in the year 1967 as a Regional Engineering College in Silchar.
