12 hour Assam Bandh over exclusion of Hindus from NRC - Bajrang Dal.

The Assam unit of Rashtriya Bajrang Dal has called for a 12-hour Assam bandh on September 6th, 2019 over the exclusion of a “large number of Hindus” from the final list of the National Register of Citizens (NRC).
The organisation called for 12-hour bandh from 5 am to 5 pm protesting against the inclusion of illegal immigrants and the exclusion of Hindus from the final list. The organisation also urged the businessmen to close down all their commercial establishments to make the bandh  successful.
It may be mentioned that the Assam government on August 31st, 2019 published the final list of the NRC. A total of 3.11 crore people made it to the final list leaving out 19,06,657 persons including those who did not submit claims.
Post the publication, Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma along with other state lawmakers demanded re-verification of the documents.
From August 31st, 2019, onwards the hard copies of the Supplementary List of inclusions will be available for public view at NRC Seva Kendras, offices of the Deputy Commissioner and offices of the Circle Officer during office hours. Supreme Court-appointed State NRC Coordinator Prateek Hajela informed that any person who is not satisfied with the outcome of the claims and objections can file an appeal before the Foreigners Tribunals.
